How do I download XTK?

Go to the Download Page. Download either the 32-bit version of XTK or the 64-bit version of XTK and save it onto your computer, and then run the installer.

You will need Administrative Rights to install XTK.

How can I tell if I have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows?
Go to Control Panel -> System and look for "System type". It will either say "64-bit Operating System" or "32-bit Operating System"
Do I still need an installer password?

No, XTK no longer requires a password to install.

Can you send me a DVD or CD?
No, unfortunately we are unable to mail installation media.
What if I don't have internet access on the computer where I need XTK?
You can download the installer onto a computer that does have internet access, and then copy it to a USB drive or burn a CD to move to the computer you want to install it on.
Can I redistribute the XTK Installer?
No, please do not distribute the XTK installer outside of your organization.
What does it cost to use XTK?
XTK is free to all US Government entities. XTK is available to foreign EOD users for a small per user fee.
Does XTK come with any scanner drivers?

No, in order to scan from XTK you must typically install the drivers for your particular scanner.

Please visit our Scanner Driver Page to download some common drivers.

If we do not have the driver for your scanner listed, you may need to contact the manufacturer.

XTK won't connect to my scanner

Make sure your scanner drivers have been installed and that you are using good cables.

If you are using the Logos T-Series scanner, make sure you have installed the correct 32-bit or 64-bit driver for the version of XTK you are running.

I get a blank image or an error about "No Data" when attempting to scan

Ensure you are getting the exposure you intended.

Check your x-ray generator to make sure it has a good battery and is putting out the dose you expect.

My ScanX Scout images have huge black borders

This can happen in some low dose or high ambient light situations.

Check your x-ray generator to make sure it has a good battery and is putting out the dose you expect.

If you are capturing low-dose images, try scanning them using Low Dose mode in the scanner settings.

If this problem persists, you can adjust the scanner threshold. Contact us for details about how to do this.

My ScanX Scout images have horizontal black strips and are longer than usual

This can happen when the machine or the films get dirty and they slip while scanning.

Clean your ScanX Scout using the provided cleaning plates, and wipe down all the films.

If this problem persists, contact All-Pro EOD for further recommendations.

What software versions do I need for the NOVO Fast Genie?

For Fast Genie in NOVO XTK plugin, use

  • NOVO XTK plugin version 2.4.3.1 or later (included with the XTK 3.3 installer)
  • NOVO Touch 1.3.1.5 or later.

For Fast Genie in NOVO Touch software, use

  • NOVO Touch 1.4.2.1 or later.
